  • Cross Writing Instruments Full Perpetual Warranty Guarantee

    Cross writing instruments are guaranteed against mechanical failures regardless of how long they have been used.


    This lifetime mechanical warranty promises you the joy of writing (the act of writing) for a lifetime, so long as you use the instrument in everyday conditions. In accordance with this warranty, if the mechanical parts that provide the basic function of a writing instrument - "writing smoothly," such as inserting and removing ballpoint pen or pencil lead, and storing and supplying ink - fail, we will replace or repair them free of charge.


    However, please note that the lifetime mechanical warranty does not cover the following cases.

    • Wear and tear of consumables such as replacement cartridges, erasers, ink cartridges, and stylus parts
    • Aging of surface treatment, wear and tear due to long-term use, damage during use, etc.
    • Damage and defects to the exterior such as breakage, cracks, scratches, dents, peeling, rust, discoloration, fading, deterioration, dirt, etc.
    • Clip opening, breaking, coming off, etc. (The clip is originally manufactured to hold thin items such as suit or shirt pockets)
    • Wear and damage to custom-made processing and decoration parts such as name engraving, engraving, emblems, etc., or damage to the main body caused by such processing and decoration.
    • Failures, damage, and defects due to impacts or loads beyond the scope of normal use such as accidents and improper use.
    • Repairs related to the nib of a fountain pen.


    In principle, repair requests will be replaced with a complete product replacement.

    Please note that original products (including consumables such as replacement ink cartridges, erasers, cartridge ink, and stylus parts) will not be returned.

    If the product is no longer available due to discontinuation, etc., it will be replaced with an equivalent Cross product. Please note that if the product is no longer available due to discontinuation, etc., and is not covered by the lifetime warranty due to its mechanism, it will be returned as unsupported.

    We ask that you please bring your repair request to the store where you purchased the product or to the retailer where it was sold, even if it may be a hassle.

    Although we strive to thoroughly control the quality of our products, in recent years we have seen customers who collect old or defective products from us for the purpose of reselling them and request a large number of replacements at once. This makes it difficult for other customers to receive our replacement service without disruption. Therefore, in light of this situation and in order to ensure that all customers can receive the after-sales service we provide equally, we will refuse to replace the product in the following cases, as we consider the request to exceed the scope of a request for replacement due to normal use by an individual.

    • If a customer with the same name or place of residence has requested the exchange of 10 or more products within the past year.
    • If a customer with the same name or place of residence has requested the exchange of 5 or more products at one time.
    • If a customer with the same name or place of residence has requested the exchange of multiple products that have different personal or corporate names or emblems on them.
    • If the request includes one or more products that we have exchanged in the past (we only exchange each product once).
    • If it is clear that the exchange is being requested for the purpose of resale, or if we determine that the request is inappropriate, regardless of the purpose.

    Please note that if the above conditions apply, we will not provide an exchange and will return the product in the same condition as when you requested.

  • Warranties for the Cross Tech Series

    Cross Tech Pro and Cross Townsend® Fine Tip Stylus Pens are unquestionably guaranteed against electronic failure for one year from the date of original purchase. Specific mechanical failures, as defined above, are covered by the terms of the Cross Lifetime Mechanical Warranty. The active stylus tips of the Cross Tech Pro and Townsend® Fine Tip Stylus Pen are consumable items which are expected to wear over time and will require eventual replacement as a result of normal usage. Tips will be replaced under the One-Year Electronic Warranty only if found defective. In the event that the Cross Tech Pro or Townsend® Fine Tip Stylus Pens are no longer in production, defective items will be replaced with a similar Cross product of comparable value.

    In no event shall Cross be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any kind or character including, without limitation, physical damage to the surface of hand-held PCs, cell phones, smart phones, or other electronic devices. Some states and jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusions may not apply to you. Warning: Follow all Instructions for Use that accompany product. Pen caps can obstruct breathing. Keep out of mouth. This product is not intended for children.

    Cross Tech2, Tech3+ and Tech4 are unquestionably guaranteed against mechanical failure, regardless of age, as outlined by the Cross Writing Instruments Full Perpetual Mechanical Warranty Guarantee above. Applicable to the passive stylus tips in Tech2 and Tech3+: In no event shall Cross be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any kind or character including, without limitation, physical damage to the surface of hand-held PCs, cell phones, smart phones or other electronic devices. Some states and jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusions may not apply to you.

    Cross TrackR® Products: TrackR® has discontinued support of their Bluetooth tracking modules on both Apple and Android platforms. Therefore, the tracking function of the Cross Writing Instruments that were created in collaboration with TrackR® will no longer be operational. This change will also impact the TrackR® Bravo devices that were sold as part of some Cross Gift Sets. The writing function of the Peerless and Cross TrackR® Pens will not be affected by this change, and mechanical failures as defined above are covered by the terms of the Cross Lifetime Mechanical Warranty.

  • Two-Year Leather Warranty

    All Cross branded leather accessories and journals are unquestionably guaranteed against mechanical failure and defects in workmanship for two years from the date of purchase. Any Cross accessory deemed mechanically defective under this warranty will be replaced when sent to A.T. Cross by the customer. Any such product that is no longer in production will be replaced with a comparable Cross product. Postage and insurance are the responsibility of the customer, and a processing fee applies. Customers are advised to obtain insurance against loss or damage when shipping products to A.T. Cross. Without proof of shipment, Cross cannot replace product it does not receive.

    Exclusions from warranty include: Parts damaged from impact, unreasonable use or obvious abuse. Discoloration due to aging or other deterioration of the leather wrapping. Materials which become worn in the course of normal use. Logos, personalization, and other decorations.

  • Warranty on Sales Outside of the U.S.

    For products purchased or used outside of the United States, upon discovery of a defect in the product within the warranty period, please notify your local dealer or distributor.
