The new Calais White and Gold is about as beautiful and they come. I prefer the Rollerball or Fountain Pen over the ballpoint. Either way they write beautifully, and like I mentioned the looks are top of the line.

I like a thicker, substantial pen when I have to write or take notes. The Calais certainly fulfills that! Over the years I have been gifted sets of the Classic Century pen and pencils and they feel too narrow at this point. The Calais has a nice price point as well. While I can afford more expensive brands, I choose not to. A. T. Cross is an American icon. From the time I was a small boy, I remember my father always having a gold classic century pen and pencil set in his pocket when he went to work.
