Peerless™ Obsidian Black Lacquer with Platinum Plated Appointments Ballpoint Pen

I own many Cross Townsend writing instruments, but this is my first Peerless 125 rollerball. One word comes to mind… stunning. The translucent blue and the Swarovski crystal are gorgeous. I am a fountain pen collector and own many Mont Blanc pens and this is comparable in quality and beauty to some of those. While I prefer the writing experience of fountain pens one occasionally needs to use a rollerball (gel) pen. My go to is always Cross because Cross has the best gel refill on the market, period! I always write with a blue gel refill. The shade of blue is perfect, it is archival ink and the writing experience is incredibly smooth and consistent. I could go on and on, but I have things to do. I do find it sad that Cross has discontinued the Peerless 125 line. I really wanted to get one of the fountain pens with that beautiful sailor nib.

I’ve purchased many of Cross’s exclusive and high-end pens over the years, but aside from the Verve collection, this one is by far my favorite. It strikes the perfect balance of style, feel, and function. The design is sleek and sophisticated, the weight is just right, and it fits perfectly in the hand, making it a pleasure to write with. Every time I use it, someone notices. I’ve even had people try to buy it from me on the spot, but no, this one is a keeper.
